WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS
Welcome to Waynesboro, VA; a municipality to which a mere 22,000 people claim as their hometown. This quaint little settlement lies just west of Shenandoah National Park which allows its citizens easy access into their recreational escapes.
However, Saturday was a day where locals and foreigners flocked to Ridgeview Park to experience the sights and sounds of Blue Ridge XtremeFest. While concrete dominated much of the landscape, individuals risked life and limb venturing into toe-high grass to explore activities ranging from rock climbing to reverse bungee jumping to pull up competitions to boat demos. In addition, crowds of young and old gathered to watch BMX bikers huck carcass at the Keith King BMX Show.
An enormous thanks goes out to Dwayne of the Waynesboro Parks and Rec who planned an incredible event and made the NOLS Bus crew feel right at home.

Oh, by the way, Waynesboro is more South of Shenandoah National Park than it is West of it. The Shenandoah Valley runs from SouthWest to NorthEast, so it throws everybody off.

Thanks for bringing the bus to Waynesboro. Folks seemed to be having a great time at ExtremeFest, and were very curious about your bus.
I never got to be near it when the engine was running, but I really wanted to find out if it smelled like KFC!
