Just Say No...
... to dehydrated, costly, processed camping food. Fight the good fight with the newly released NOLS Backcountry Cooking: Creative Menu Planning for Short Trips.
NOLS Backcountry Cooking is a perfect tool for putting together successful and delicious weekend trips. Many of the recipes are straight from the pages of the ever faithful NOLS Cookery, but they’ve been specially chosen and marked as meals that would have easy pre-trip prep and make good meal-in-a-bag creations.
By breaking down and simplifying the meal planning process, the book leaves you more time to get other work done (and therefore justify slipping out of the office early on Friday to get to the trailhead). And at tiny 4 inches by 6 inches and a mere half a pound, it won’t weight your adventures down. Click here to buy your copy today!

New Video Production Internship
Attention all aspiring videographers! We have an exciting new internship to announce.
The NOLS Video Production Internship will involve working closely with our Marketing and Curriculum departments here in Lander, Wyoming to develop NOLS videos for distribution on the web and elsewhere. This internship will be dynamic and fun: a given day may involve tromping through the woods to film a portion of a course, interviewing students and instructors about their experiences with NOLS, or spending time fine-tuning your skills in the editing room. You'll have a hand in the entire production process, from story boarding to filming to editing to distribution.
Check out the internship description for more information and get in touch if you have any questions!

Powder Alert - Grab Your 42" Snorkel!
Wyoming and Idaho's Teton backcountry has gotten a whopping 42" of mouth-watering powder in the last five days. That's right, NOLS' Teton Valley Branch is awash in puffy, face-splashing, white nirvana-from-the-sky.
It's been a great snow year so far, with more on the way. That means it's also a great year for our snowboarding, backcountry skiing, alumni telemarking and winter outdoor educator courses. Check out the recent photo by instructor John Fitzgerald.
Isn't it time you grabbed your boards and cut some turns with NOLS? Better wear goggles.
