An update from NZSF2
Last week saw NZSF 2 return from their 22 days of sea kayaking in Marlborough Sounds. This section was a highly successful sea kayaking expedition, achieving its entire route unsupported and with numerous memorable highlights. Some of their highlights included collecting and eating New Zealand green lipped mussels, encounters and sightings of Little Blue Penguins and NZ Fur Seals, Dusky Dolphins, Weka’s, Australian Gannets, King Shags and also the amazing weather. The route covered 120 nautical miles in seas of up to 3 feet, currents to 4 knots and explored the Pelorus Sound, Tennyson Inlet, Titirangi, Waimaru and Forsyth Bay. Here are a few photos from their sea kayak section:
After a very quick transition here at the branch, NZSF 2 have now headed into the Arrowsmith Range for a further 20 days mountaineering.
